Strati ̄cation in Multivariate Modeling
In this note we illustrate strati ̄ed complex sampling with several simulation studies implemented in Mplus 3.1 and discuss the e®ect of strati ̄cation on parameter and variance estimation and on log-likelihood chi-square testing. We compare the results obtained by Mplus with those obtained by SUDAAN on linear and logistic regression models.
متن کاملA Note on the Estimation of the Multinomial Logit Model
The multinomial logit model with random eeects is often used in modeling correlated nominal polytomous data. Given that there is no standard software of tting it, we advocate using either a Poisson log-linear model or a Poisson nonlinear model, both with random eeects. Their implementations can be carried out easily by many existing commercial statistical packages including SAS. A brand choice ...
متن کاملWhich Are the Best Features for Automatic Verb Classification
In this work, we develop and evaluate a wide range of feature spaces for deriving Levinstyle verb classifications (Levin, 1993). We perform the classification experiments using Bayesian Multinomial Regression (an efficient log-linear modeling framework which we found to outperform SVMs for this task) with the proposed feature spaces. Our experiments suggest that subcategorization frames are not...

متن کاملLog-linear Modeling Under Generalized Inverse Sampling Scheme
SUMMARY This paper discusses the log-linear model for multi-way contingency table , where the cell values represent the frequency counts that follow an extended negative multinomial distribution. This is an extension of negative multinomial log-linear model described by Evans (1989). The parameters of the new model are estimated by maximum likelihood method. The likelihood ratio test for the ge...
